West Bengal Electronics Industry Development Corporation Limited (WEBEL) is the government agency responsible for technology development in West Bengal, India. It was incorporated in 1974 with the objective of developing the electronics industry in West Bengal. Webel is the nodal agency of the Government of West Bengal for developing Information Technology, Electronics and ITES industries in the State and creating value for the citizens.

Webel facilitates the growth of the industry by a host of measures such as developing infrastructure in the form of land/buildings for the investors and facilitating processes of clearances that are required to set up business, ensures last mile connectivity, assists the government in all its e-governance projects and brings tangible benefits to citizens in the field of health care and IT education. Webel acts as the single window support center for all services required by the IT & ITES investors in the state of West Bengal.

The President under Notification dated 9th May 2007 has amended the Government of India (Allocation of Business) Rules, 1961. Pursuant to this amendment, Ministry of Agro and Rural Industries (Krishi Evam Gramin Udyog Mantralaya) and Ministry of Small Scale Industries (Laghu Udyog Mantralaya) have been merged into  a single Ministry, namely, “MINISTRY OF MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES (SUKSHMA LAGHU AUR MADHYAM UDYAM MANTRALAYA)”

 

 

Angel Funding received from The Intellecap Impact Investment Network (I3N) in January 2013 in the form of Equity

iKure TechSoft has received an investment from the Intellecap Impact Investment Network (I3N or I-cube-N).The investment has been made by 2 HNI members of the network - Jayesh Parekh, co-founder of Sony Entertainment Television, and Nandan Maluste, who has over 35 years of senior management experience. Both are active mentors and investors. The funds will be used to set up Rural Health Centers (RHCs) across rural West Bengal over the next 3-4 months.I3N is India's first angel network facilitating investments into early stage impact enterprises. I3N gives enterprises access to a varied group of investors that have a board range of investment preferences and appetites. The network currently has over 30 members consisting of high net-worth individuals as well as early stage institutional investors looking to invest into promising and scalable enterprises.
